Little City Hall Identity Program

Client

City of Boston*

Project description

Boston Mayor Kevin White launched a series of Little City Halls in his first term in an effort to decentralize city government. The satellite offices scattered around Boston were intended to bring city services closer to residents and provide greater representation at the neighborhood level. Sand’s concept-heavy identity system clearly focuses on the Little City Halls’ goal to unravel the red tape of government bureaucracy.

* It’s not clear if Sand’s design was speculative work as part of a project bid.
